Ronald McDonald House of Jacksonville

For 20 years now the Jacksonville, Florida Ronald McDonald House has offered families of critically ill or injured children lodging and support services during their treatment at area medical facilities.  Open since 1988, over 24,000 families have been involved in our program.  In 2001, we completed a new 42,000 square foot home that now serves up to thirty families each night.  Our website offers information about programs, our events, and our needs.

McGala Festival in the Orient a Big Success

Nearly 600 guests donned their party clothes (many with an Asian flair)and came out to the Sawgrass Marriott Resort on Saturday, April 19, 2008 for the 14th annual McGala, the biggest fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House of Jacksonville. The Marriott was transformed with pagodas, gardens, a pond with a waterfall, orchids, willows, plus entertainers and activities that made for a celebration to be remembered. See the photo gallery and watch for more additional information about this event that was made possible by the donations of so many businesses and individuals in our community. More than $300,000 net was raised for the House program. Thank you all!

Children's Way 5K Set for September
September 27, 2008 will not only be the day for another great 5K and free family festival here at the Ronald McDonald House, but it will also be a chance to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of our Ronald McDonald House program in Jacksonville.  Watch for information as plans are made.  Meanwhile, check out the 2007 photo album and mark your calendars for a great day of family fun!

Joe Zelenka and Friends Back to Bowl June 2, 2008
Jacksonville Jaguars' Long Snapper Joe Zelenka and his teammates will be back for a repeat of the successful celebrity bowling event - the Joe-Z Celebrity Bowling Classic.  See all the fun in the 2007 photo album and put a team of four together for a great afternoon of fun and competition at Jax Lanes Grove Park.  Call 807-HOME (4663) for information.

Discovery Circle Going Strong in 2008

Check out the photo gallery for photos of this young friends of the Ronald McDonald House membership drive and social at the Comedy Zone in April which raised over $900 for the House program. They'll be making dinner for the families later this month, and of course plans are well underway for their annual Pig Pickin'!

Collecting pop tabs from soda cans is so easy and a significant fundraiser for the House on an ongoing basis. Please help by saving tabs and getting your family and friends to do the same. Drop them at the House by the bag or jug full anytime.

Have you updated your cell phone?  Are you wondering what to do with that old one?  The Ronald McDonald House of Jacksonville is working with Project RE-Cell to provide you with an easy solution to your problem.  You can help the House and the environment by recycling your old cell phone.  Check your home or office for any retired cell phones or accessories and bring them to the Ronald McDonald House of Jacksonville at 824 Children’s Way.
